Music, Drama and Art

Music is core to our curriculum, with each class having a weekly lesson with a well qualified specialist Teacher. In addition, we have a vibrant school choir and orchestra.

We actively encourage children to widen their musical experience by providing music tuition both within and outside school hours. We offer cello, clarinet, flute, guitar, keyboard, percussion, piano, recorder, saxophone, singing and violin lessons and promote graded music examinations.

A Choral, Instrumental and Orchestral Concert is held every year and the whole school collaborates in Christmas and Summer Productions, to which all parents are invited.

Drama plays a key role in developing children’s self-confidence and social skills throughout all stages of their academic career with us. All aspects of drama are taught, ranging from improvisation, public speaking and projection techniques through to full, scripted productions.

Art and Art Appreciation are also studied and we offer a variety of educational visits, including excursions to galleries and museums. This allows all pupils, regardless of their artistic ability, to gain a knowledge and understanding of art.

Extra Drama is also offered as part of our popular and varied after-school club programme.
