Our School Ethos & Aims

Ashton House is a friendly, purposeful and tolerant prep school for girls and boys.

Our School offers children the opportunity to be recognised, to be valued and to succeed in a happy environment with high academic standards and a broad, enriching curriculum. Boys and girls, aged from 3 – 11 years, find success not just academically, but in music, sports, and drama.

We instil tolerance and respect for others, we celebrate diversity and emphasise the importance of contributing to society. By the time an Ashton House pupil is ready for secondary school, they will have developed resilience: enabling them to embrace change, have a clear sense of right and wrong, question that which they don’t understand, to be brave enough to make mistakes and to have confidence to aim for personal success while supporting those around them.

  • Honesty
  • Kindness
  • Courage Commitment
  • Respect

Our values form the heart of our school and are the foundation of the incredibly strong, diverse community that is Ashton House. These traits are carried on by our pupils well past their time in the classroom and are traits which we believe they continue to uphold well into their individual futures.

British Values

We are committed to fostering fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.
