Library and IT

Ashton House embraces learning in all its forms. In today’s multi-media society, that means providing children with access to sophisticated IT facilities, as well as to more traditional study and learning aids.

We have a dedicated IT Suite with ten computer terminals in which pupils have a 40 minute weekly ICT lesson in half class groups. All classrooms have at least one networked computer for general use and we use interactive whiteboards throughout the school.

We continually update our IT facilities to keep pace with technological change, but we also understand the important role that books continue to play in the education of our children. Each classroom has its own library of books and the school has recently established a dedicated library containing more than 2,500 titles on a wide variety of subjects. Children can come here to read in an intellectually stimulating environment and to borrow books when they wish.
